Dock Spider Jorts
Made for cold summer nights by the water. For slow walks around the lake, when the dock creaks, the air smells wet, and you stay out longer than planned.˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
This piece is shaped around a water spider I grew up watching on the docks of my family island, the Dolomedes Tenebrosus. The silhouette draws from long bathing suits I wore as a child, with the lacing in the front.
The jorts are constructed from three tones of beige and brown wool, layered to create depth. Along both sides, a sculptural 3D build using parmenture pushes the center panel inward, giving the legs a carved shape rather than a flat surface.
They are fully lined with a dark brown lining for comfort and structure, and finished with parmenture at the hem. At the waist, a front lacing system allows the fit to settle on the body, while a wide belt with a large clip weaves in and out of cutouts around the waistband, securing the garment and adding weight.
This piece is one of a kind. Made slowly, by hand, as a single object within the Camden Realm.˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
